FREE SPORTS & ENTERTAINMENT Lesson Plans

Looking for a fun activity idea to help engage students in the short week leading up to the holiday weekend? This “NBA City Edition” lesson plan offers a great way to explore the concept of branding in a way that is certain to capture the attention of your students.

With this lesson plan, your students will explore some of the recently revealed “City Edition” uniforms NBA teams introduce each season in collaboration with Nike. Over the summer it was announced that Jordan Brand will also be involved with several teams and their alternate “Statement Edition” uniforms.

This lesson plan includes a PPT to aid in discussion along with a student activity that encourages students to design their own version of a “City Edition” uniform. Encourage students to think about your city and community. What does your hometown’s brand look like? What imagery reflects the community’s traditions and values and how might that be incorporated into your design? What causes or community relations initiatives might the design help to support?
