SCC has created a forum for all of your students that are interested in sports to connect with and learn from the finest organizations in the sports industry. Our events not only provide students with a general overview of the industry, but also feature individual workshops designed to address specific topics relevant to careers in sports. This program provides an exciting and FUN event for students to learn about the thrilling world of sports!

The Jordan Brand Experience at Nike’s World Headquarters
(October 24th, 2008)

In October of 2008, nearly 500 high school students from Oregon and Washington participated in an incredible event hosted by Jordan Brand at the campus of Nike’s World Headquarters.  The event featured an inspirational keynote address from Jordan Brand VP, Howard White and  Jordan Brand President Keith Houlemard amazed students with motivational stories of his experience in the industry.  The conference also featured a panel of guest speakers who shared valuable information with students about finance, marketing, accounting, branding and career guidance.  After lunch, students took a guided tour of Nike’s campus before getting back on the bus and heading back to their respective schools.

5th Annual Sports Marketing & Careers Expo at the University of Oregon (hosted by Warsaw Sports Marketing Center)
(October 17th, 2008)

Nearly 200 Oregon DECA students participated in our fifth annual conference on October 17th, 2008. The event, hosted by the University of Oregon’s Warsaw Sports Marketing Center, focused on sports marketing and sports business career opportunities.  Jolynn Ovington, a former adidas and Nau senior executive, was the featured keynote and welcomed the group in the morning session. Students then participated in breakout sessions, featuring workshops presented by the Warsaw Center, Univeristy of Oregon Licensing and Nike ID.  In the afternoon session, students had an exciting opportunity to tour the University of Oregon’s campus and athletic facilities, widely regarded as some of the nation’s finest!

The Rim Rockin’ Comedy All-Stars Tour (May, 2008)

In May of 2008, SCC teamed up with Uneek Projects to bring an exciting sports marketing opportunity to a local school.  The Rim Rockin’ Comedy All-Stars, a Globetrotters meets Streetball basketball event, entertained a crowd of 500+ at South Albany High School in Oregon.  The game featured high flying slam dunks, trick dribbling and a heavy dose of comedy, all as a fundraiser for the school.
